He's surrounded by good people and.. he has a good head on his shoulders..' On possible duet with Cher: 'The age difference between Cher and Justin is something like 40 years. That's variety, right?'

Nick Jonas 'A Shining Light For Diabetes'

Nick Jonas Diabetes Health interview. Nick has become a shining light for type 1 diabetes, a charismatic advocate and fundraiser, and a real star with whom youngsters with diabetes can identify and from whom they can take comfort.

On his Change for Children Foundation: 'It started originally when I was doing some Broadway shows in New York City and seeing homeless families on the streets, and I wanted to do something for them. When I got diagnosed, the vision for the foundation changed a little bit to diabetes, oriented.

I still have diabetes and I'm probably going to have it for a while, unless there is a cure one day. You know, it's something that I'm passionate about, and I want to speak out about it. I've seen the effects it has on young people. They feel alone with their everyday struggles with diabetes, and they just want to have that assurance that they can live out their dreams with diabetes.

I play a lot of sports, that's the main thing. Baseball is a big one. I think if I wasn't doing what I am today, I would be playing baseball. Ping pong on the road also keeps you somewhat active.. Every day is different, so you have to be prepared for every situation, and have the right tools, and keep the right people around you who know what to do in emergency situations.'

He would like to work with Paul McCartney, whom he describes as 'an amazing man and an amazing performer, and obviously he is quite a legend. It would be a pleasure playing with him. [On Broadway] There are a number of different roles I would like to play. It just would have to be the right time and the right thing. You never know where I might pop up.'

Your image is a lot sassier now: 'I think I’ve just been able to grow up so much as an artist and as a person. Over the past few years, I’ve learned a lot more about myself, who I am in style.. I also get to try on so many different things for all kinds of shoots. If you try so many different attitudes with everything you do, you just realise who you are and who you are not a bit quicker, I think.'

What was meeting the Queen like? 'There were a lot of rules. I was very nervous so I can’t really remember them all now, but it was like, ‘You can’t speak unless you’re spoken to’. So I was like ‘Oh my God, I’m from Tennessee, you guys! We’re like big huggers, y’know, that kind of family!’ And you don’t do that kinda thing with the Queen!' What did she say to you? '[Puts on a posh English accent] ‘Extravagant performance!’ Something like that, but I can’t do the accent!'

Anything that you’re insecure about? 'I used to ask everyone all day, ‘Do I look pretty?’ I probably asked that question about as many times as I blink. But then I just got over it. It’s not cause I started feeling beautiful, it’s just because I was more comfortable. I became so used to the paparazzi and the cameras and the ‘What are you wearing’ and having people stare at me.' Do you think there’s anything about you that need to tame? 'Not right now, but we’ll see! Haha!'
